The Festival in Movement
For the past 60 years, the Festival has constantly observed a living cinema, discovering thereby its styles, trends and points of emergence on world cartography in perpetual evolution. It continually pursues as well reflection on its own future to provide itself with the best means possible to prepare for and respond to the expectations of both professionals and film lovers alike.
This symbolic date of the 60th anniversary offers the Festival de Cannes the occasion to mark its entrance into the 3rd millennium by placing the event under the sign of modernity and renewal.
And to thus celebrate international cinema, we wish to revitalise each of our actions and artistic choices, highlight ever better the films, and last but not least bring together the artists around shared sources of inspiration and passion.
