Cannes Events
Digital technology, computing, new communication technologies: the largest conferences in the world are held in Cannes.
In addition to the Film Festival with 120 000 participants, other important annual events of the Palais season include the MIDEM (music, 9 000 participants), the TAX FREE World Exhibition (world trade fair of tax-free products, 15 000 participants), the MIPTV (television, 12 000 participants), the MIPCOM (films, video, programs and communication, 12 000 participants), the International Advertising Festival, (Lions d’or, 9 000 participants), the MIPIM (real estate, 16 000 participants), as well as a number of world conferences, particularly in the computing and pharmaceutical sectors, that attract thousands of professionals from other countries.
The Palais also organizes and hosts events open to the general public, such as the International Game Festival, Cannes Shopping Festival, the International Dance Festival or the Electro Pantiero Festival, to name a few.Overall there are more than 55 professional events that attract something about 290 000 visitors each year...
The Palais des Festivals is considered to be the true economic “conductor” in the basin of Cannes, since it functions about 300 days, earns 780 millions Euros annually and generates about 12 000 jobs, including 4 400 direct jobs all year long.
